Patient’s Success Story

I was in considerable discomfort just walking. I have previously been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. I had pain in my right knee for years but had been able to manage it by resting and managing the load on my knee. When my left knee started to hurt as well I knew that I needed help or even worse even surgery on my knees. I do Indoor Cycling at Sidcup and Crook Log, I did not want to have to give that up, but it was beginning to feel uncomfortable even though that exercise is mostly non-load bearing.

I live close by the Clinic. I thought the Clinic looked smart and professional from the outside. I thought maybe if it looks good, then maybe it is good. I find the same principle often applies to pubs and restaurants!

The treatment so far has been so very good. Just talking to someone who understands and pinpoints problems and establishes a clear way forward can make a big positive impact alone. CT applied taping to my knees and stimulated muscles to help build strength. Greg has given massage treatment and identified a set of exercises to go alongside the treatment. All three complement each other.

The problem in my left knee has really now been resolved. My right knee is improving considerably. My knees and legs have changed from a feeling of being made of chalk and continually clunky to a feeling of being strong and firm with a little bit of softness in the knees I never really thought I would feel again. I can now specifically walk down stairs smoothly and with almost perfect balance. Big transformation.

I used to run marathons. After a twelve year gap without running at all, I am now thinking that it is a realistic goal to be able to maybe do a Park Run. I intend to continue strengthening through the winter and set myself a goal of a Park Run with my cousin in Spring 2024.’
