We want to help you to have a happier, healthier 2020, and so have organised talks on health and wellbeing in our clinic. Talks are free and run from 7:30-8:30pm. Please signup with our reception team as spaces are limited, we would love to see you there!

Stress Management – Gail Marra – Thursday 23rd January

Gail is a Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Harley Street
who now enjoys holding weekly therapy sessions at Blackfen Chiropractic Clinic.Her interest in the study and workings of the mind and human behaviour spans more than 30 years, beginning with the study and practice of stress management and its effect on health and well-being. Today she works with a wonderful variety of clients ranging in age from 7 to 77, with issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, pain control, pain management, fears, phobias, addictions, IBS, insomnia and much more.

Gail will be talking about the psychological and physiological effects of stress and how you can harness the power of your subconscious mind to bring about positive change.

Supplements – Emma Corry – Thursday 23rd January

Emma has a strong interest in supplement therapy and its effects on musculoskeletal (MSK) health and general wellbeing. The talk will be about how supplements positively influence our health and speed recovery from illness and injury.

Key concepts of the talk include:

  • Less is more, only supplement where diet can’t meet the need
  • It all starts with the gut and good digestive health
  • What are the best supplements?
  • What are the MSK and health benefits

Resilience and Courage – Paula Kerr – Monday 3rd February

The main themes of the talk are resilience and courage.
The talk will cover how life experience can influence our personal growth and how we can alter our outlook and improve our inner strength, to achieve our goals. Paula will share some life experiences, including her cancer diagnosis and explain how these now help her deliver my Fitter Stronger core values; exercise, nutrition and motivation. Paula’s Fitter Stronger book will be published at the end of 2020 by Splendid Publications. Fitter Stronger was shortlisted at the National Fitness Awards in the Fitness Educator of the Year category in November and Paula has been nominated in the forthcoming Kent Women In Business Awards. Sleep – Ingrid Herholdt – Monday 3rd February

Ingrid qualified in South Africa with a Masters degree in Chiropractic in 2007. After working as associates in clinics across Kent and Essex, C.T. and Ingrid started Blackfen Chiropractic Clinic in 2012 with a vision of positively influencing people’s health. ‘Chiropractors spend most
of their day using manual treatment techniques to improve how patients move and feel. But an even bigger part of care happens during our discussions with patients whilst treating. Topics that often come up include mattresses and sleeping positions.’ Ingrid will delve into some of the principles to bear in mind when choosing a mattress, and discuss some of the habits that may be helping/hindering your sleep.
